Aftercare
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another.
When a family experiences the death of a loved one, there will be a myriad of emotions . . . everything from disbelief to anger to sadness to relief. It is our hope at Schrader Funeral Home that we can assist the family on the Journey of Grief. We cannot take the pain away, but we can be a guide along the pathway to help put ones' life back together with new meaning and direction. In the work of grief, we can help the family find a new place for memories of the loved one.
In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance. For that reason, many local and national support groups have formed. These groups provide a common place and a comforting environment for expressing emotions through each phase of the grieving process. To learn more, click on the links above, or discuss grief counseling and support options with your funeral director. We have also listed some Grief Support Programs below.
