The Sunshine Club
A note from the funeral home owners:

The Schrader Sunshine Club Legacy
For many years, the Schrader family envisioned a group that would serve and support those in our area who had suffered a loss. This vision became a reality in September 1994, with the creation of The Schrader Sunshine Club.
The purpose of this group is to give those with a shared experience (the loss of someone they love) an opportunity to gather in a safe atmosphere to visit, relax, share experiences, and have an enjoyable time. The sunflower has become the symbol of The Schrader Sunshine Club. A sunflower was selected because of what we believe the flower represents:
A sunflower has many petals (us). The petals are in close contact with one another, just as we are. They radiate and receive their nourishment from the center (God) just as we do. There are no membership dues to join or belong to The Schrader Sunshine Club. The only charges are for the activities in which you participate. The Club does not realize a profit. Our goal is helping people feel better!
Sunshine Club Activities
The Schrader Sunshine Club meets once each quarter for a luncheon. This well-attended event is usually held in the Crystal Ballroom of Forest Hills Country Club in Clarkson Valley. An entertaining program of interest follows lunch. Notices are sent about a month before the scheduled date of the luncheon. Reservations are mandatory. Other months of the year are filled with interesting day trips around the Missouri and Illinois areas, or occasionally an overnight trip out-of-town. Most of the members of The Schrader Sunshine Club love to travel, and we offer an interesting variety of trips throughout the year. We always have a good time! Some places that we have visited are:
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Branson, Missouri
- Eureka Springs, Arkansas
- House on the Rock
- Kansas City, Missouri
- River boat casinos
- Many local attractions
