Beloved husband for 64 years of Sally A. Wagner (nee Buettner); dear father of Dan (Angie) Wagner, Mike (Kathy) Wagner and Mary (John) Hall; loving grandfather of Kate (Rick) Hill, Caroline (Spencer) Brookover, Michael Hall, Grace Wagner, Julia Hall and Jake Wagner; great-grandfather of Collins Brookover; our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Gene was a retired Sergeant for the St. Louis City Metropolitan Police Department and a Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri St. Louis. His philosophy was simply to Live, Love, Laugh.

Services:  Memorial Mass at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, Kirkwood on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 11:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. If desired, contributions may be made to White House Retreat or Backstoppers .
