Obituary

Basilios Lambos, fell asleep in the Lord, Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Loving husband of Aristea Lambos (nee Anghelou).  Loving father of George (Margaret) Lambos, Anastasia (Jimmy) Kotis, and Alexia (Niko) Georges.  Proud Pappou of grandsons, Vassilios, Spiro, Alexandros, Stefanos and granddaughters,Victoria and Natalia.

Basilios was born January 27, 1936 in a small village of Nafpahtia, Greece.  Basilios assumed the role of a provider at an early age due to the untimely loss of his father who died while serving in the military during World War II.  He had a great desire to serve others which led him to achieving a degree in Theology at the University of Athens, Greece.  Basilios also went on to earn his MD and PhD degrees as a Medical Doctor at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Basilios met and married the love of his life, Aristea, in 1969 and immigrated to the U.S. and settled in Illinois.  Over the course of his career he built and ran multiple medical practices, including a free medical clinic.  He and his wife raised their three children until they retired and split their time between the U.S. and Rhodes, Greece.

Basilios put his family, faith, work and heritage above all else.  He was also very proud of becoming an American citizen.  Basilios found contentment in life in activities such as reading, playing cards and chess, going for walks and swimming.

He will forever be remembered for his deep intellect, great intuition, care and concern for all, and the words of wisdom that he imparted to others through his stories and orations.  He not only had high expectations for himself, but also those he loved and cared for.  Basilios' memory and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
