Betty Ann
Buersmeyer (Nee Bleckman)
May 15, 1932 — Apr 21, 2026
Jefferson City
Betty Ann Buersmeyer (nee Bleckman), 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Beloved wife of the late James Buersmeyer; devoted mother of Larry Buersmeyer, Cathy (David) Adams, Tom Buersmeyer, and Alisa (David) Gregory; cherished grandmother of Jonathan (Catherine) Adams, Christina (Jeremy) West, Alex (Ryan) Dunham, Ashley (Casey) Reed, Austin Gregory, and Ryan Gregory; loving great grandmother of Fiona, Landon, Logan, Jenson, Gemma, Arlo, Rowan, Ezrah, Edeline, Boston, and Benson; sister of the late Marilyn (Maurice) Alfermann, Maurice (Marilyn) Bleckman; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Betty was born in Washington, Missouri to the late Albert and Catherine Bleckman. She lived a life defined by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. Betty never met a stranger and was known for her ever-present smile, which could light up any room. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty loved to travel and treasured the many trips she took with her friends and family. A devoted sports fan, she especially loved cheering on her favorite teams - the Cardinals, Chiefs, and Mizzou - but truly enjoyed watching all sports. She also stayed active herself, with a special love for bowling and golf.
Betty was a great hostess and always thinking of others. She was an active member of her local bridge, dinner, and book clubs where she formed meaningful friendships. She was a snowbird splitting her time between St. Louis and Fort Myers and embracing the communities she called home in both places. Betty will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
