Betty Jane Grogan (nee Knowles), passed away, Sunday, February 22, 2026

Beloved wife for 70 plus years of Robert "Bob" J. Grogan; loving mother of Terry W. (Leisa) Grogan and Laura S. (Jay) Logsdon; proud grandmother of Christine (Ty) Fidler, Jayson Logsdon, Michael (Laurie Ann) Grogan, and Kelsey Jones; cherished great grandmother of William Fidler, Ava Jaymes Jones, Luke Fidler, Reid Fidler, Kip Grogan, Lane Fidler, and one on the way; dearest sister of Ruth Heck, Arlene Pat Ehrich, Linda (Don) Siekmann, and Tom (Nancy) Knowles, Jr.; dear sister-in-law of Thomas P. (Matianna) Grogan and Jean (Jack) Mezera; aunt of Steve, Cheryl, Bruce, Eddie, Bobby, Lad, Daniele, Paul, Michael, Colleen, Thomas, Brian, and Mia and their spouses; great aunt to over twenty youngsters; dear cousin and friend of many.

Betty graduated from Ritenour High School in 1946 and went on to attend Miss Hickey's Secretarial School, completing her studies in 1947. She worked in Procurement for McDonnell Aircraft Company from 1948 to 1953. Afterward, she devoted many years to her family as a full-time mother and homemaker. In the 1980s, once her children were grown, she returned to the workforce as a real estate agent.

Betty loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church for 50+ years, serving as a Stephen Minister, an Altar Floral Arranger and Visitor to the Homebound.  Betty had the gift of hospitality and especially loved to entertain her family.  Family was extremely important to her as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She babysat her grandchildren regularly.  She was always there with a helping hand!

Betty was a talented artist doing many excellent oil paintings, a gifted seamstress sewing many custom-made items - such as her children's and grandchildren's clothes and various costumes.  She was also a creative Interior Decorator designing draperies, reupholstering furniture and doing her own painting and wallpapering.  Betty also loved to play Bridge and collected many Master Bridge player points in numerous tournaments.
