Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we must share the news that Carolyn Hollowood passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at St. Lukes Hospital.
Those that know her well, know how much she loved to travel. I like to think that she has traveled to the Ultimate destination vacation; Heaven. After a string of medical issues the past few years and a couple months battle this fall/winter, Carol accepted the Lord's invitation to her eternal home.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Johnson, brother Michael Maier, grandson Justin Wallace, her parents Bernice Crawford and John Meier and sister Jenny.
Carol is survived by loving family:
·       Chelise Wallace (daughter) and husband Timothy Wallace,
·       Jay Hollowood (son) and wife Darla Hollowood,
·       Grandchildren: Jeremy Moore, Joshua Rodman, Analiesa Hollowood, and Jay J Hollowood II.
·       Also survived by her sisters: Kimberly Hendricks, Gwen Meier (sister-in-law).
Carolyn had a heart of service to others. For more than 30 years, she worked as a nurse at St. Lukes Hospital, then Surgery Center Administrator. Even after "Retiring", her passion for medicine and helping others continued and she traveled to evaluate and improve surgery centers across the country. We teased her that she was the Gordon Ramsey of surgery centers, referencing "Kitchen Nightmares" or closer to familial experience, John Taffer's "Bar Rescue".
Family, medical service to others and travel were her passions. She also loved music and had an eye for quality art: from paintings to figurines to quality jewelry. She worked hard all her life and enjoyed the fruits of her labor in her retirement.
