David William
Huhn
Aug 19, 1939 — Aug 29, 2026
Chesterfield
David W. Huhn, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29th, surrounded by his family and comforted by his Christian faith. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and zest for life touched all who knew him.
Born August 19, 1939, David lived a life centered on family, adventure, service, and faith. He was the devoted husband of Barbara R. Huhn for more than 60 years. Together, they built a loving family, traveled the world, and shared countless cherished memories.
David loved to travel and especially enjoyed sailing whenever possible. His passion for sailing led to decades of involvement with the Carlyle Sailing Association, where he proudly served as Commodore. He also believed deeply in serving others and served as a board member of Wings of Hope, a cause close to his heart.
At home, David enjoyed his model trains and his beloved dogs. Above all, he treasured his family and took great pride in being a grandfather to eight grandsons. These young men brought him immense pride and joy, and he treasured watching each of them grow and become the men they are today.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; his brother, Charles Huhn; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Rossiter. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jane Huhn; his children, Heidi Mackey (Amber White), John Huhn (Robyn Huhn), and Katherine Usry (Gabriel Usry); and his eight grandsons, Blake, Bo, Kade, and Luke Mackey; Will and Jack Huhn; and Spencer and Leyton Usry.
David will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, devotion to family, service to others, and steadfast faith. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
