David Roy Koch, 87, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 9, 2026 at his home in Rolla, Missouri.

Dave (as he liked to be called) was born on March 28, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri to Oliver and Josephine Koch.  Dave grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957.  Dave joined the Marine Corps in July 1957 and was honorably discharged July 1959.  Thereafter, Dave worked for United Parcel Service and retired in 1995 after 32 years of service.

He lived by the motto "work hard, play hard."  He spent summers at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends, captaining the "Wild Thang", fishing and enjoying the sunsets at Koch's Kove.  In the fall, he hosted his annual Deer Camp in Rolla, where friends and family gathered to enjoy food and drinks before hunting season began.  In the winter, he traveled to his home in Naples, Florida, where he spent his days golfing and relaxing.  He also loved cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and eating pizza every Friday night.  Beyond his adventures, Dave loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by daughter, Roxsen Elizabeth Koch of Parkville, MO; Rhonda Lynn Koch-Strauss (Mark Strauss) of Dallas, TX; and Kara Leanne Koch (Paul Walbaum) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Thomas, Sophia, William, Morgan, Ava and Meredith; and sister, Genevieve "Gennie" Koch Mason.  He is preceded in death by his former wife Mary Dennison and survived by his former wives Marjorie Koch and Rita Waters.  Dave, was fun-loving, the life of the party, a successful man, with a loving family and many friends. He often said, "I've had a good life."  He will be missed by many.

Services:  Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Rd., Ballwin MO 63011.  The funeral service will be Monday, April 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home Chapel with brief visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.  The interment will follow in Lakewood Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Dave's memory to the charity of one's own choice.  Please share memories of Dave and condolences with the family in the online guestbook at Schrader.com
