David
Winslett
Oct 20, 1945 — Jan 20, 2026
Town and Country
David Winslett, born in Newport, Wales was a loving son, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of deep faith, sharing 57 loving years of marriage with his wife, Cynthia. Together they raised three children, Dawn (Mike Ulman), Robin (Kelly), and Nick (Susan) and were blessed with nine grandchildren; Kyra, Charlotte, Jack, Rhys, Henry, Owen, Charlie, Kathryn and Miles. David was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ivy Winslett and his older brother Harry. David is survived by his sister Barbara. He was a proud uncle, cousin and friend to many. His greatest joy came from seeing his family thrive and staying closely involved in the lives of his grandchildren.
After earning his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Wales in Swansea, David built an exceptional 43-year career in the chemical and manufacturing industries working for several companies including British Petroleum, Betz Laboratories, Petrolite and Pretium Packaging. This career took the family from Wales to England and finally to St. Louis, Missouri as he advanced to executive positions including Chief Operating Officer, President and Board Member.
David lived an active life outside of his work that included running, cycling, kayaking, and gardening. His passion for sports started in competitive rugby, highlighted by a memorable 1969 match with Swansea against the South African Springboks when David was 24 years old.
In retirement, David dedicated himself wholeheartedly to service, faith, and community. A devoted Catholic, he was an active parishioner at Saint Clare of Assisi, where he served as a Vincentian, participated in the Men's Club, and engaged in Bible study. His charitable work continued to grow, leading to his election as President of the Board of Directors for the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of St. Louis in 2012. Alongside his work with the Society, he was also deeply committed to supporting the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Food Pantry, a cause he championed with great compassion. David will be remembered for his humility, kindness, and servant's heart. He leaves a legacy of love and generosity that lives on in his family and in all the lives he touched.
