Baumgartner, Donald Harold, "Don", passed away, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the age of 85.  He was born in Elgin, Illinois, a son of Harold and Inez (nee Hill) Baumgartner.  Don earned his bachelor's degree from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a master's degree from Michigan State University.  He spent his career as a Wood Technology Specialist in hardwood sales and management, and was a former Vice President of Gaines Hardwood in St. Louis.   Don loved the outdoors, especially fishing in Wisconsin and Canada, and was also an avid golfer. He was a Boy Scout in his youth and worked with the St. Louis Cub and Boy Scout programs as a Commissioner for many years. Don and Janet moved to Maryland Heights in 1972 and then to Chesterfield where they lived for 42 years.

He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Janet (nee Wagner) Baumgartner; dear father of Thomas (Jane) Baumgartner, and Steven Baumgartner.  Don was preceded in death by his twin brother David Baumgartner, and a sister Mary Baumgartner.
