Donette Joann
Johnson (Nee Loranz)
Jul 6, 1942 — Aug 14, 2026
St. Peters
Donette Joann Johnson (nee Loranz) passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2026 at 84 years old.
Donette was born July 6, 1942, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Mary (nee Wirtz) and Edward Loranz. She married Dale Arthur Floyd Johnson on January 21, 1961, and together they built a family and shared many years of life together. They were blessed with three sons: Dr. Bruce Arthur, born in Butte, Montana, Dr. Mark James, born in Pueblo, Colorado, and Paul Edward Johnson, born in St. Louis, Missouri.
Donette devoted much of her life to her family, her faith, and serving others. She worked for the City of Ballwin for 15 years before later owning and operating the Commercial Café in Linn, Missouri, a business that had belonged to her mother. Over the years, she also worked for several organizations in the St. Louis area, including Life in the Word, Allstate, St. Louis Community College, Maritz, The Salvation Army, Radiology Consultants, and St. Luke's Hospital. She retired in 2005.
Above all else, Donette loved the Lord. Her faith became the foundation of her life and shaped the way she spent her years. She was deeply involved in churches and prayer ministries throughout her life, serving others through prayer, intercession, healing ministry, and other forms of service. Her faith remained a constant source of strength and purpose throughout the many seasons of her life.
Donette loved her family dearly. She greatly cherished her sons, her grandchildren, and most recently her first great-grandchild, Daniel, with the joy of another great-grandchild on the way. She was an avid puzzler and loved games such as Sudoku and crosswords, always enjoying a good challenge to keep her mind sharp.
Donette is survived by her sons, Bruce (Marckous) and Paul (Gabriela); her grandchildren, Austin, Erik (Patricia), Brendan (Kimberly), and Lauren (Tyler); her great-grandson, Daniel; another great-grandchild on the way; and siblings Les, Patti, Sandi, and Chuck. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale and her cherished son, Mark.
Her life was marked by a deep love for God, an enduring devotion to her family, and a desire to serve others. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
