Doug
Rowden
Jan 6, 1941 — Apr 6, 2026
Fenton
Doug Rowden passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, laughter, and unwavering love.
Doug built a strong and admirable career over many years. He began at Watling Ladder, where he worked for seven years, followed by five years at Cupples Products and another five years at EJ Korvette. He then spent 27 years with F.W. Woolworth, where he made lasting contributions and friendships. Doug concluded his professional journey with a remarkable 30-year career at Coldwell Banker, where his work ethic and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of work, Doug truly embraced life. He loved golfing, taking vacations, and especially spending time at the beach. He enjoyed cruises, trips to Las Vegas, and walking along the Strip. A devoted sports fan, Doug loved watching the Cardinals, attending baseball games, and following golf.
Doug cherished summertime, often relaxing on the back deck with his beloved wife, taking in the view of their pool and enjoying time with family. He found great joy in simple, meaningful moments-whether it was attending his great-grandson Jackson's T-ball practices and offering coaching tips, or spending Sundays at his brother-in-law's farm cutting grass. In earlier years, he worked side by side with his brother-in-law and father-in-law baling hay, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
He also treasured time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, visiting his daughter's friends with siblings and their spouses, where they enjoyed golf, laughter, and beautiful lake views.
Doug married the love of his life, Judith Zieman Rowden, on January 7, 1961. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, respect, and devotion. He was a kind, loving, and considerate husband-the very definition of a life partner.
Doug was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; dear father of Cindy Schweiger; loving grandfather of Brittany (Mike) Wania; and proud great-grandfather of Jackson and Blakely Wania.
He was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Dulcia.
He was the dear brother of Danny (Carolyn) Rowden and the late Harold (Jerri) Rowden, Larry (Patricia, who survives) Rowden, Roger (Judy, who survives) Rowden, and Glenda (Mark) Joslin. He was also a brother-in-law to Margaret (the late Floyd) Wissman and Harvey Ziemann, and a cherished uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Doug will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While his absence leaves a profound void, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
