Obituary

Edward "Ed" H. Burch, passed away at the age of 73 on August 19, 2026. He was born and raised in St. Louis to William and Rosa, who preceded him in death.

Ed was the beloved husband of Mary Noel; brother of Janet Williams, Jerry Burch and Joan Haumschilt. Brother-in-law of Cheryl and Walter Lucas, Ed and Chery Noel, Mark Haumschilt and Cindy Burch. He had numerous nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.

Ed was what is called a renaissance man. He could do anything from tuning up a car to tuning the strings of a guitar. Ed was an expert fixer and could repair or diagnose just about anything. He started with an interest in cars, repairing, renovating and restoring.

For years he worked with his Dad for Mobil Oil. He also was a technician for Southwestern Bell/AT&T. Ed loved working in cable repair and installation for telephone services. He built custom homes for a period of time and added many decks and sunrooms to homes around the St. Louis area.

Ed's favorite job was working for the band Mama's Pride. He loved the travel, working the stage and taking care of the equipment and instruments. Nicknamed "Bucky" for his I can take care of everything attitude, those were some of his happiest years.

In the relaxing times, Ed enjoyed watching and attending St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers games. For many years he was a season ticket holder for both teams. He was lucky enough to watch winning seasons, including World Series titles for the Cardinals and Conference and Bowl wins for Mizzou.
