Eileen Frese (née Dirkers) was baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Beloved wife of Robert Frese. Loving mother of Joanne (Brad) Goodrick. Proud and devoted grandmother of Nathan and Jacob Goodrick. Dearest sister of Linda (Keith) Whittemore, George Dirkers, and Diane (Tim) Jones. Dear sister-in-law of Jim (Patricia) Frese, John (Sally) Frese, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Heckel. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Born in St. Louis to the late Norbert and Santhe Dirkers, Eileen was raised with the values of family, faith, and the importance of meaningful relationships. She was a graduate of Cor Jesu Academy and continued her education at Maryville University, Washington University and then received her bachelors degree at SIUE.
Eileen met Robert in 1986, beginning a relationship that would grow into a lifelong partnership. They were married on March 4, 1989, and together built a life centered on love, family, and shared experiences.
Eileen's life reminds us that motherhood is not measured by biology, but by the love, guidance, and influence one gives to others. Although she did not have children of her own, she was a loving and steady presence in Joanne's life, offering support, encouragement, and a genuine interest in her life. Her influence was a reflection of her generous heart and the importance she placed on family. She took great pride in her family and especially treasured her relationship with her grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob, who brought her tremendous joy and happiness.
Throughout her professional life, Eileen explored several meaningful careers, working as a television producer, nurse, and real estate agent. Each represented a different chapter of a life marked by versatility, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.
A longtime member of Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Eileen cherished her faith and her relationship with God.
Those who knew Eileen appreciated her sincerity and authenticity. She was genuine in her words and actions and valued those same qualities in others. She believed in being real, honest, and true to oneself. There was no need for pretense with Eileen; what you saw was what you got. Her sincerity was one of the qualities that made her special and helped create the meaningful relationships she shared with family and friends.
Eileen will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her genuine nature, and the love she gave to those fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
