Elizabeth "Beth"
Roberts (Née Hagler)
Jul 5, 1957 — Jul 11, 2026
St. Louis
Elizabeth "Beth" Roberts (née Hagler), 69, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 5, 1957, in St. Louis, Beth lived a life truly defined by love, generosity, selflessness, laughter, and service. The old cliché rang true for Beth, as she would light up a room merely by walking in because everyone knew her presence would be followed by a witty joke, thoughtful advice, inspiring encouragement, or an unwavering desire to serve. To her family, she was Mom and Grammie, and to her husband of 46 years, Don, she was lovingly known as "Buns."
If you met Beth even once, you knew her. She was an open book about her life and her loves, and she would soon find out about yours. She loved to pepper friends with questions and never forgot the things they shared with her. She had a remarkable ability to draw people out and make them feel important, valued, and loved.
Beyond loving on her family and spoiling her granddaughters, Beth's favorite thing was getting together with friends so they could talk about their intelligent children and great husbands (NOT!).
Beth graduated from the University of Missouri, where she laid the foundation for a successful career in marketing research. She went on to help build and lead a respected market research company, earning the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
While Beth was proud of her professional accomplishments, her greatest passion was helping others. She devoted countless hours to serving her community through organizations including National Charity League, CASA, St. Patrick's Center, the NF Foundation, and Metro Leadership League.
She even opened up her own home, where she welcomed many to stay for a night, a few weeks, months, or, when the need arose, even years. Beth believed that if you had the ability to help someone, you simply did. While Don wanted to charge her relatives "rent," Beth's only requirement was that they love on her beloved dogs.
Her life's work and greatest legacy were rooted in offering a hand up to those in need, especially the underprivileged and underserved.
Above all else, Beth's greatest joy was her family. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by those she loved, celebrating life's milestones, creating memories, and making even ordinary days feel special. Her granddaughters, Kennedy and Blair, brought her immeasurable joy, and there was nothing she loved more than watching them grow.
Beth is survived by her husband, Don; her daughters, Lauren (Bob), Meredith (Austin), and Dani (Joey); her granddaughters, Kennedy and Blair; and her sister, Debbie (George) Hames.
In honor of Beth, please find a way to offer someone a hand up or perform even the smallest act of kindness today. It would be the tribute she would have loved most.
