Ethel A.
Brown (Nee Barton)
Jan 16, 1936 — Jul 11, 2026
Valley Park
Brown, Ethel A. (nee Barton), passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born on January 16, 1936, in Montauk, Missouri, to the late Everett and Agatha Barton, Ethel grew up with a deep appreciation for family and the simple pleasures of life. It was in the journey of life that she met her beloved husband, Lawrence F. Brown. The two shared a beautiful, enduring love story, remaining happily married for 65 wonderful years before his passing.
Ethel was a woman of many passions and talents. She found great joy in the outdoors, whether she was fishing or tending to her vibrant garden. Her home was always filled with warmth, the aroma of her wonderful cooking, and the beautifully preserved yields of her canning. When she wasn't busy in the kitchen or the garden, she could often be found quietly working on a puzzle or crocheting keepsake pieces for those she loved.
Above all, Ethel will be remembered for her unwavering devotion. She was a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and a loyal friend to many. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ethel's legacy of love lives on through her surviving family, including her children: Gary (Sue) Brown, Ken (Karen) Brown, and Susie (Kevin) Brunner. She was the cherished grandmother of Kenny (Jessica) Brown, Ryan Brunner, Travis (Jammie) Brown, Kristin (Jack) Fancher, Brandon Brown, Matthew Brunner, and Ashley Brown. Her joy was further multiplied by her nine beloved great-grandchildren: Owen, Grayson, Dallas, Tage, Kendall, Kylie, Leighton, Kensley, and Reece, as well as a large, loving network of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was reunited in eternal rest with those who went before her, including her beloved husband, Lawrence F. Brown, with whom she shared over six decades of beautiful marriage. She was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Everett and Agatha Barton, who welcomed her into the world.
