Evelyn T. Schirmer (nee Keune), passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Ernest E. Schirmer; loving mother of Geniece (Robert) Miller and Keith (Barbara) Schirmer; dear grandmother of Kari (John) Nance, Danielle (Travis) Warren, Benjamin (Victoria) Miller and Lisa (Donald) Ackerman; great grandmother of Cody, Avery, Wesley, August and Maxwell. Dearest sister of Victor Keune; dear sister-in-law of Dorothy Keune. Dear aunt, cousin and friend of many.

She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Leota (Herman) Schindler, Vernon (Adeline) Keune, LaVern (Welsey) Brewer, Herman "Sonny" (Betty) Keune, Robert Keune, Glenn (Janette) Keune and sister-in-law Marilyn Keune.

Evelyn was born March 19, 1934 in Glencoe, Missouri to Herman and Edna Keune.

She worked at Brown Shoe Company in the distribution department from the age of 18 to 20.

She married Ernie on November 5, 1955 at the United Church of Christ in Town and Country. While living in Kirkwood in 1956 Geniece was born then in 1959, Keith was born.  They moved into their new home in Ellisville in 1960, where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

Evelyn enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking walks, decorating cakes, knitting, crocheting and doing yard work. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services: Family and friends will gather at St. John United Church of Christ, Manchester, MO, for a visitation on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Evelyn to St. John United Church of Christ, Manchester .
