Obituary

Floyd W. Goodman Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, and a friend to many.

Floyd was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann Goodman (nee Mowry), with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father of Jeffrey Michael Goodman and a proud grandfather of Pierce Owen Shiozo Goodman and Luke Ethan Kihachi Goodman. He was the dearest brother of Sandra Goodman and a dear brother-in-law and friend to many.

Floyd was a proud but humble man who believed in taking care of the people he loved. He was a great provider for his wife and son and, as Patricia grew older, devoted himself to caring for her with love and unwavering dedication. His family was at the heart of his life, and he treasured the memories they made together.

A veteran who served in the Army National Guard, Floyd also gave generously of his time to his community. He was a member of the South Side Lions Club for more than 20 years and proudly served as its president. He valued the friendships he made through the Lions Club and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Floyd enjoyed life and embraced every opportunity for an adventure, especially alongside Patricia. They traveled together, attended events through the Lions Club, enjoyed evenings at the Fox Theater, and spent countless hours working in the yard. He also treasured the time he spent living with Jeffrey and his family in Hawaii, where he created many special memories that he carried with him.

Those who knew Floyd will remember his outgoing nature, his energy, his generosity, and his willingness to help others. He was grateful for the life he was given and gave freely of his time and himself to those around him.  His kindness, strength, generosity, and devotion will live on in the many lives he touched.

Floyd leaves behind a legacy of love, service, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
