Gary L.
Backsmeyer
Feb 12, 1951 — Feb 28, 2026
Ballwin
Backsmeyer, Gary L., baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane Backsmeyer (nee Boursheski) ; dearest father of Jason (Lisann) Backsmeyer and Justin (Brittani) Backsmeyer; dear grandfather to Hudsen, Henley and Pace Backsmeyer; son of the late Carl and Bernice Backsmeyer (nee Hendricks); dear brother of Kandy (the late Craig) Hoffman and the late Peggy (Wayne) Hackstadt, Diana (Charles) Struckhoff and Greg Backsmeyer; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Gary was blessed to spend 50 plus years with the love of his life, Jane Backsmeyer. They are now reunited in Heaven.
Gary was an incredible Father, who always instilled hard work and the importance of staying true to what you believe. His Faith was his foundation, and his family the priority of his being.
He loved being a Grandfather to his three granddaughters! He was so proud of them and loved watching them grow up. A steady fixture on the sidelines and school functions.
The family would like to thank all of those for their love, support and compassion and extend our heartfelt thanks to family members, friends and neighbors.
