Beloved husband of the late Helen L. Meier (nee Prather); dear father of Teresa Meier, Jerry (Dawn) Meier, Mary Lou (Jeff) Auton, Marge Meier, Mike (Laura) Meier, Anne (Peter) Larson and the late Stanley Meier; loving grandfather of Garrett (Christina) Cronin, Paul Meier, Ben (Chelsea) Auton, Monica (Kyle) Luetters, Marie (Greg) Trower, Megan (Dandre Campbell) Auton, Tom (Sabrina) Nowlin, Laura Nowlin, Ella Meier, Becca Larson and Brendan Larson; great-grandfather of many; brother of Marge Chaney and the late William Meier, Jr., Ann Schrader, Marilyn Glennon, Shirley Guempel and Stanley Meier; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Gerald was born in Maplewood, MO.  He grew up as the youngest of seven attending Lyndover Elementary School and Maplewood high school.  He served in the US Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. Upon returning from military service, he married Helen, the sister of his best friend Charlie. He completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at St. Louis University. He spent his career as an IT professional, retiring from Angelica Uniform Group. He enjoyed 27 years of retirement. He leaves behind a family legacy of six children, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Services: Funeral from the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin for 12:00 p.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Catholic Charity of your choice or Masses.
