Harriett N.
Beaugard (Nee Noecker)

Eureka
Harriett N. Beaugard
March 2, 1944 - September 1, 2026
Harriett N. Beaugard (nee Noecker) passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Beloved wife of Peter H. Beaugard. Loving mother of Chris (Teri) Beaugard, Drew (Gina) Beaugard, and Jenni (Glenn) Bussen. Proud and loving Grandma RiRi of Brendan (Tori), Luke, Quinn, Patrick, Grennan, Heidi, Addi and Tyler. Great-grandmother of Connor, Skylar, Piper, and Oliver. Dearest sister of John "Jay" Noecker. Dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend of many.
Harriett was born in Decatur, Illinois, on March 2, 1944. She was the firstborn child of Harry and Dolores Noecker. Although her early life was too often touched by tragedy and hardship, her fondest childhood memories involved riding and jumping her beloved horse, Blaze. Grit and resilience, along with a spirited personality, defined her early years and carried her throughout her life.
She attended Catholic schools for her education, ultimately graduating from Saint Louis University in 1966. While at SLU, she met Peter, and they married soon after graduation; recently celebrating 60 years of marriage.
Family was at the center of Harriett's life. She was the anchor and rock of her family, always there with encouragement, wisdom, comfort, laughter, an occasional sarcastic comment, and most of all, unconditional love. She cherished the role of "Band Mom" as her children and their friends became involved in high school band. She was present for countless rehearsals, performances, activities, and life milestones. Always making sure those she loved knew they had someone cheering them on.
Harriett's professional life was devoted to her role as a teacher and a career in education. While raising her own children, she relied on the flexibility of working as a substitute teacher. Later she taught sixth, seventh and eighth graders in the parochial school system of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She was drawn to the challenge of helping all of her 'kids' navigate the difficulties of the middle school years.
She enjoyed many simple pastimes and was rarely without something to keep her occupied. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing mahjong on her phone, and loved to knit. She knitted slippers for countless family members and friends, providing plenty of warm feet over the years. She also enjoyed a good mug of hot tea and had a fondness for collecting coffee and tea mugs, refrigerator magnets, and unique Christmas ornaments.
Harriett was witty, straightforward, and had a great sense of humor. She was not one to make a big production out of things and generally preferred to say it like it was. She had an innate ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome in all situations.
Those who knew her well will also remember some of her favorite expressions. When something went wrong, became frustrating, or simply deserved a comment, there was always a good chance of hearing "Oh CRIPES!" or "Criminently!" - her humorous and unique alternatives to stronger words, that perfectly captured her personality.
She valued friendship and cherished the connections she made throughout her life. She maintained her circle of lifelong friends and appreciated the time spent together, whether through conversation, shared interests, or simply keeping in touch.
Harriett lived a full life centered around her family, her friendships, and the things she enjoyed. Loved ones will remember her not only for the important moments, but for the everyday irreplaceable ones - the knitted slippers, ever present crossword puzzles, mugs of hot tea, quick comments, and especially her joy and laughter.
She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a family that will carry her spirit forward - in stories shared around the table, in laughter, in handmade treasures, and in the love she so freely gave.
