Helen Kathleen "Kathie" Rayfield
Helen Kathleen Rayfield, lovingly known as Kathie, was born on April 8, 1939, in Springfield, Missouri, to Laura Katherine Glasscock Burns and James William Burns, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her brother, James Michael Burns.
Kathie's life was marked by a deep devotion to her family, her church, and her faith. She was known as a "prayer warrior" by those closest to her, faithfully lifting up the needs of her loved ones and community. She also had a keen mind, a gift for solving puzzles and mechanical challenges, and a creative talent for design. Kathie worked as an Interior Decorator, creating display homes, and later founded her own design business.
She also had a lifelong love of sports, especially cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether it was baseball or football, watching a game was one of her favorite pastimes and a source of joy and connection with her family.
Kathie is survived by her sister-in-law's, Nancy Burns and Kristan Lucas, as well as her three children and their families:
· Daughter Mindy Ford and her husband Herb, and their children Benjamin (Cristina), Daniel and Joseph.
· Daughter Laurie Waller and her husband Christopher, and her children Carsen, Cole, and Jake Miller.
· Son Jeff Rayfield and his wife Ann (Esrock), and their children Allison (Patrick McFadden), Scott, Emily, and Billy.
