Jacquelyn Jean
Mccraine
Oct 11, 1936 — Feb 21, 2026
Fenton
Jacquelyn Jean McCraine, who later adopted her maiden name Kindrick as her middle name, ("Jackie") passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on February 21 at her residence in Ballwin, Missouri.
Jackie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife whose warmth, independence, and lively spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She was born October 11, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Lt. Colonel Joe L. Kindrick, and grew up there with her older sister, Samantha. Jackie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio and later attended Trinity University.
While working as a legal secretary for a San Antonio law firm, Jackie met the love of her life, Marion Ray McCraine of Centreville, Mississippi. The two married and shared 61 years together before Ray's passing on September 21, 2023. They later moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where they began raising their family in the mid-1960s. In 1969, they relocated to Ballwin, Missouri, and later to Forest Hills in Clarkson Valley, Missouri.
Jackie worked as a Realtor with Gundaker in St. Louis, enjoying the opportunity to spend time with many friends who were also exploring new pursuits. Jackie and Ray cherished their golf memberships at Forest Hills Country Club, Woodsmill Tennis Club in St. Louis, and Vanderbilt Country Club in Naples, Florida, where they spent many memorable moments with close friends.
Jackie was known for her energy, humor, and willingness to take on any challenge. She loved spending time outdoors, tending to yard work, driving her dune buggy, and socializing with friends on the golf and tennis courts. She was skilled with a lasso, had laser-sharp aim with a BB gun, scored two hole-in-one's playing golf, and she was never afraid to tackle what others might consider a "man's job." Above all, she was gregarious, independent, and deeply devoted to her family.
Jackie is survived by her two sons, James Kindrick McCraine and Jack Alexander McCraine.
She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Melodi, James's children Craig, Courtney (Billy) and her great-grandchildren Ella and Raegan.
She is further survived by her daughter-in-law Mira, Jack's children, Grace and Ava.
Jackie's legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched with her humor, strength, and generosity.
