Jean Marie
Biehle (Nee Overman)
Sep 1, 1932 — Jun 30, 2026
Wildwood
With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Jean Marie Biehle (nee Overman) on June 30th, 2026 at the age of 93.
She was born September 1, 1932, daughter of the late Frank and Ida Overman. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Chuck Biehle, her sister, Sister Mary Rosetta SSND, her brother Reverend Monsignor Robert F. Overman and sister-in-law Peggy Biehle.
She is survived by her 3 children Bob (Pam) Biehle, Chris (Devin) McCarthy and Jim (Lori) Biehle, along with her 5 grandchildren Jennifer (Sean) Ennis, Andrew Biehle, Michael McCarthy, Julia Biehle, Sam Biehle, and 1 great grandchild Ella Ennis.
Jean built a life of love and commitment to family, friends and her faith. A devoted mom who was always there to support her kids and grandkids whether studying for an exam or simply attending a sporting event or school play, Jean was always there to show how much she loved her family. Never one to forget a birthday or holiday with a card or note she always let people know they were remembered. In fact, there were unmailed cards that were ready to go in the mail when she passed. Mom could always make you feel special with a word or gesture that was often unseen. She was a wonderful example to her family of what it meant to love those around you. Holidays were celebrated at her house up to the time that she passed away. Mom wanted to host those events as long as she was physically able although she was willing to let her kids take over the heavy lifting for those events in the past few years.
Mom was an avid traveler after our father passed away going on many trips with her sister-in-law Peggy Biehle both foreign and domestic. She loved the adventure and meaning she found in her journeys. She also traveled with her family to any number of interesting places. Jean also for many years attended monthly lunches with her high school classmates until the pandemic. These were a very special part of her life.
She was an active member of St. Alban Roe parish for many years serving in a number of ministries including Eucharistic minister, offertory counting, parish council, wedding consultant, leader of the Prime-timers, a member of the Marian Honor Guard, Heavenly Dusters, Bible study participant and near the end of her life making rosaries for the missions across the world. Jean made a number of great friends at St. Alban's many of whom she spent time going to outings, playing dominoes, and lunches with. Mom was a friend to all. She was active until the very end with many activities to fill her time. An avid reader and watcher of Jeopardy it helped keep her mind sharp and active. Jean was inquisitive and curious until the end.
Her independence was exemplified by the fact she was still living at home at the end of her life. She was full of energy up to the end. Always willing to try something new she was a joy to be around.
She even charmed the nurses and doctors that were there to care for her at the end of her life. So many commented on what a wonderful and special person she was. We as family won the lottery when Jean became our Mom and grandma.
