Jeannie C.
Thornberry (Nee Crivello)
Mar 10, 1966 — Feb 27, 2022
Kirkwood
Jeannie was born March 10, 1966 to Charles and Marlene (Masters) Crivello and died February 27, 2022, both at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO.
Jeannie graduated from Parkway West High School in 1984, Purdue University in 1988 (BS degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology), and a MS degree (Speech Pathology) from St. Louis University in 1989).
On December 16, 1989 she married Kent Thornberry at the Old Cathedral in St. Louis. She worked in many speech-related positions and began building her greatest of many legacies, her treasured family.
After losing a close friend to melanoma she helped create the Melanoma Hope Network foundation. She devoted her remaining years to counseling and aid locally and nationally to meet the support, treatment and recovery needs of patients and their families. The foundation was instrumental in getting financial aid, and finding and coordinating many experimental treatment trials to help save lives. The foundation also provided educational programs to students and adults on sun-safety practices, plus giving national recognition to doctors and treatment centers who excelled in meeting all types of melanoma needs.
Jeannie earned a Masters of Social Work from Boston University in 2016 to broaden the counseling work she was devoted to. She also completed the Boston Marathon in 2009.
Her survivors include her husband Kent, children Brandon (Michelle), Evan (Mary), Christian, Jared, Grant and Kaitlyn Thornberry, all of St. Louis; her parents, Charlie and Marlene Crivello, of St. Louis, brothers, Joe of Herndon, VA, Jim (Sue), and sister, Julie (Jim) Renne, of St. Louis, and her treasured grandchild Jude Thornberry, son of Brandon and Michelle.
