Jesse Fredrick Anderson Jr. passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

He was the beloved husband of the late Deborah Anderson and the loving father of the late Derrell Anderson. Jesse was the dear brother of Oliver E. Anderson; cherished uncle of Emanual (Dora), Stephanie, Oliver Jr., and Orlando; and devoted great-uncle of Emanual Jr., Emoni, Alenah, and Azoriah. He was also a treasured cousin, friend, and source of kindness to many.

Jesse was born on May 28, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Jesse and Hattie Anderson. Recognized for his academic abilities at a young age, he was enrolled in a school for gifted children and attended Worchestershire School for the Gifted in Connecticut.

He later attended Stowes Teacher's College in St. Louis, where he earned a degree in Education. Jesse dedicated most of his professional life to teaching social studies, helping to educate and inspire countless students throughout his career. Due to declining health, he was forced to retire earlier than he had hoped.

Outside of the classroom, Jesse enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved chocolate ice cream and milkshakes, and he never passed up a cheeseburger from Burger King, where he became a familiar face to many. He also enjoyed taking long walks and spending time in quiet reflection.

Known for his generous spirit, Jesse had a heart of gold. He was a gentle giant, a kind soul, and a man whose warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew him. His memory will be cherished and his presence deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he enriched.

May his legacy of kindness, dedication, and love continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
