Jimmy Dale
Townsend
Jan 16, 1958 — Aug 1, 2026
Labadie
Jimmy Dale Townsend, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2026, at the age of 68. He passed away peacefully at St. Louis University Hospital while holding the hands of his beloved daughters, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on January 16, 1958, in St. Louis, MO, Jimmy was the son of the late Larry Dean Townsend & the late Sylvia Doris Townsend (nee Massey). He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, David Mitchell, mother-in-law, Corene Mitchell (nee Mooney), and brother, Jonathan Dean Townsend. He is survived by his loving wife, of 46 years, Debbie Townsend; his children, Stephanie (Karl) Mittler and Jamie Townsend; his grandchildren, Jace, Brooklyn, & Liam Mittler, and Karlie Batagianis; his brother, Garland Townsend; brother-in-law, Steve Mitchell; and niece and nephews.
He was a devoted member of Lighthouse Church of Pacific, where he received the Holy Ghost and found great joy in serving the Lord. Throughout his life, Jimmy's faith remained his foundation, especially as he fought a long and courageous battle with liver disease.
He found freedom on the open road and brotherhood as a proud member of the Road Saints Motorcycle Club. He took pride in owning and operating his dump truck company. He built his livelihood through determination, long hours, & an unmatched work ethic. Before becoming self-employed, Jimmy was a welder for the Union Pacific Railroad.
Above all else, the greatest joy of his life was becoming "Pa". Nothing brought him more pride or happiness than his 4 grandchildren. They filled his heart in ways no one else could. The time he spent with them & the memories shared will remain a treasured part of his legacy.
Though his seat is now empty, and the road ahead will never feel quite the same, his spirit will continue to walk beside everyone whose lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, & always loved. May he ride free and rest in peace.
