Boyland, John J., passed away, Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 81.

Beloved husband of the late Bev Boyland (nee Straub); loving father of Tiffany A. Boyland and Brianna (Kenny) Duenke; devoted Papa of Aidan, Vivian, and William; dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

John proudly declared himself "pro-pollinator," delighting in feeding his home-made nectar to visiting hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, and bees, even suffering a sting or two in the process.

A good day for John involved sharing a Costco chicken with his best buddy, Jack the Wonder Dog; taking in the breeze on his deck; and catching some classic TV and concerts on YouTube. His favorite song was "Spirit in the Sky," which his daughters have fond memories of him blasting while cruising around in his Oldsmobile 88.

A man of deep faith, John made sure to attend church every week, whether in person or via livestream online. He was also a strong believer in the healing power of good nutrition and good water. It was rare to see John without an apple in hand or a bottle of Fiji water nearby.

Above all, John was devoted to his grandchildren and made sure they knew he would always accept them, no matter what. His humor, generosity, and quirky personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services: Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Eulogy at 11:00 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
