Covert, John C., passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born in St. Louis County, a son of Robert W. Jr. and Helen F. (nee Sweeney) Covert. John was self-employed as a marine mechanic and technician.

He is the beloved father of Ryan Covert, Tiffany (Clayton) Stuart, and Brittny (Dustin) Reeves; proud grandfather of Tanner and Colton Covert, Hayden and Asher Stuart, and Bryce and Dillon Reeves; loving boyfriend of Tammy Cobb; dear brother of Denny Covert, Rich (Diane) Covert, and Jim Covert; plus, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Unger and Mary Helen Johnson, and brothers Mike Covert and Robert Covert, III.

John was an expert fixer and could repair or diagnose anything at the drop of a hat. His desire to fix things carried well into his retirement. His free time was spent looking for his next project or researching parts online. He loved to buy and sell, which was often the extent of many of his projects. More so than that, John loved his children and grandchildren beyond measure. He continued to fight through the challenges of the treatment process so he could once again spend time with his grandchildren. John was always happy and in a good mood; he knew no strangers and made friends everywhere he went. He was quick to greet everyone with a smile and a joke. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services: A Celebration of Life for John will be held at the Pacific Eagles Social Room, 707 W. Congress St., Pacific, MO 63069, Missouri on Saturday, August 29th at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to http://bloodcancerunited.org .
