Goddard, Jr., John Alan, passed surrounded by his family, Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Humorous and loving husband of Erika Rae Goddard for 19 years; cherished father of Elleanor Sue, Samuel Alan, Charlotte Rebecca, and Ruthie Beatrix; devoted son of John Alan Sr. and Susan Goddard; adored brother who became the hero of Tammara (Todd) Broad and Becki (Chris) Ashby; dear and adored uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

John fiercely loved his family. He was a proud father who championed his children's adventurous side. He was a life-long Chicago Bears fan no matter where he and his family lived. Always generous, John would share his smoked meats, craft beer, and home cured bacon with others. He could always find funny in any situation. His creative side was funneled through making shirts and decals for his family and friends, which prompted interactions with others, even strangers. John appreciated art and had many meaningful tattoos, especially the ring tattoos he designed for himself and Erika. He was proud to be an organ donor. The world is a better place because of John.

The family would like to say a particular thank you to Dr. Jason Rich and Dr. Peter Oppelt for always giving hope while being realistic, as well as the medical community at Siteman Cancer Center for their support and care of our family.

Services: Memorial visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to The Foundation for Barnes Jewish Hospital for Cancer Research .
