Godfrey, John Edward, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Tuesday, August 19, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene T. and Ann L. Godfrey.  He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 54 years.  Dear father of David Godfrey and Jennifer (Eric) Ponce; loving grandfather of Riley Ponce; brother of Patrick (the late Betty) Godfrey, Jan (the late Terry) McCarty, Mary Lynn Godfrey and the late Michael (Nancy, survives) Godfrey; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.

John worked for State Farm Insurance for 37 years.  Whether relaxing at Innsbrook or sitting on the deck watching the deer with his dog, you could always find him outside.  He enjoyed eating out with family and friends, traveling and completing puzzles.
