Karin Le Crockett Smith passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, her 75th birthday, surrounded by her sisters Melinda & Cathy and sons Tyler & Chad.

Karin earned her bachelor's degree from Baker University and went on to dedicate her career to teaching English as a Second Language, guiding numerous students as they built new lives and found their voice in a new language. Those who knew her will remember her generosity - a spirit that showed up in how she gave her time & attention. In her free time, Karin was an avid "puzzler".

Karin was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Smith. She is survived by her son Tyler and wife Jenny; her son Chadwick and wife Liz; and her beloved grandson, Leo.

A service celebrating Karin's life will be held at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Hollway, Ballwin, Missouri, on Saturday, September 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karin's memory to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago , St. Louis Children's Hospital , or No Kid Hungry .
