Obituary

Kathryn Jayne Wuestling, passed away, Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Kathy was born on February 5, 1959, to George and Ermalynn (Kirk) Wuestling in St. Louis, MO. She is survived by her mother, children Haley and George Krachenfels, brother Kirk Wuestling, sister-in-law Suzanne, three nieces Brittany Wuestling, Rachel (Corey) Caudle, Trisha (Shawn) Weber, one nephew Tyler (fiancée Abby) Wuestling; Great-Aunt of Ellington and Beckett, and special friend Bill Krachenfels. She was predeceased by her father, George Wuestling.

Growing up in Ballwin, she graduated from Parkway West High School in 1977 and Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1983. Nursing was one of her passions, as well as her profession. In fact, the other nurses often called her Nurse Kathy. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Webster University and worked at many St. Louis area facilities during her forty-two-year career.

Another of Kathy's passions was the Girl Scouts. Her involvement began with daughter Haley and continued until this past year. She loved watching Haley and George participate in racquetball, and was proud that both graduated from Mizzou.

She also loved the music of Steve Winwood, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Duke Ellington. In her younger days, she won best party trick contests by performing the Vulcan Death Grip on herself and falling flat on the floor- without injuring herself.

Ermalynn was Kathy's good friend as well as her mother. They took annual vacations together, traveling as far away as Polynesia. This past summer they went on a Caribbean cruise, in part to celebrate her mother's ninetieth birthday. For friends of the furry kind, cats were her favorite.

When you think of Kathy, give your loved one a pat and your cat (or dog) a hug, as she liked to say. Please do not try to duplicate her Vulcan Death Grip trick, it most likely won't end well!
