Kennedy Grace
Carter
Jul 24, 2003 — Apr 20, 2023
Ballwin
Carter, Kennedy Grace, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Beloved daughter of Michael (Tracy) Carter and Connie (Gary Ruble) Carter; dearest sister of Carley, Jon, Sarah, Caden, Caitlin, Cash and Kyle; dear granddaugher of John and Judith Carter, Gary and Cheryl Endres, Victoria and Dean Brown and Dennis and Kim White; girlfriend of Logan Shepard; our dear niece, cousin, friend, and Cupcake to many.
Born on July 24, 2003, Kennedy came into this world ready to do it her own way. She was independent from the start, whether that was picking out her own clothes for preschool or wanting to wear her plastic high heel dress-up shoes to the playground. She attended St. Joseph Manchester for grade and middle school. She made many lifelong friends here, including Brooke Jackson and Emily Paule, and memories that will never fade. She was always working hard on her grades. She always had her nose in a textbook when she wasn't playing basketball, volleyball, or dance on the weekends. She also found her passion for theater here.
When she went to high school at Parkway South (class of 2021), she continued with this passion. She acted in one performance and devoted her time to the Costume Department for every other performance. Here, she grew into the intelligent woman we know today. She put her all into her schoolwork, extra-curriculars, and friendships. She always knew where the party was but also knew when it was time to study for her next exam. She was a member of the National Honors Society and the International Thespian Society. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. The summer in between high school and college, Kennedy started dating Logan. From that moment forward, we knew as a family they were destined to continue life together. Their family will always be ours.
After high school, she was accepted into the University of Missouri- Columbia. While here, she pledged to Phi Mu Fraternity as a legacy. She had many sisters who supported her throughout her studies to become a nurse. She was also a member of the Student Nursing Association and Fighting Pretty Mizzou. She was on the Dean's List. A few weeks ago, Kennedy was accepted into the Sinclair School of Nursing through Mizzou after working what seemed like her whole life to get there. She bought her first stethoscope, which her best friend Brooke will be carrying with her throughout nursing school as a reminder that Kennedy is still with her every step of the way. We graciously thank Brooke for taking Kennedy on this journey that she was also supposed to be on.
Kennedy was a beacon of light in our family. She always had a smile on her face when she wasn't upset about a game of mini golf or making a decision. She knew how to make everyone laugh. She loved her sherpa jacket, her puppies at home, and most of all every single person in her very large family. She will be deeply missed by everyone she met along this path of life, but we know she is wrapped in such love and grace up in heaven. We love our forever angel.
