Larry Douglas
Klingler
Sep 8, 1944 — Mar 14, 2026
Eureka
Larry Douglas Klingler, age 81, of Eureka, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026.
Larry was born on September 8, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Joseph T. and Matilda A. Klingler.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. In 1967, Larry began his career with the Metropolitan St. Louis Police Department. He spent most of his police career on the Tactical Anti -Crime Team, where he partnered with his good friend Jerome Klipfel. In 1979, Larry began his final career at UPS, where he worked until retirement in 2006.
Larry's love for fishing began at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he spent many years making wonderful memories with his family. Later in life, the 5K Farm became a special place where his love of hunting was shared beyond measure with his son, grandsons, and best friend Henry Mueller Jr. If Larry wasn't at the farm, you could likely find him on the sidelines of his grandchildren's games, proudly cheering them on.
Larry shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janet F. (Roderman) Klingler, whom he married on October 7, 1967. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and unwavering support for one another.
In addition to being a devoted husband, Larry was a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife and children: Kristie (Klingler) Yallaly (Wayne Schwentker), Tim (Jennifer) Klingler, and Rebecca (Eric) Paoli. Proud grandfather to: Dylan and Jacob Yallaly, Logan, Sophia and Weston Klingler and Ava, Nicholas and Alaina Paoli.
Larry is also survived by brothers, Richard Klingler and Joseph Klingler. Larry was preceded in death by parents Joseph T. & Matilda A. Klingler and brother Ronald Klingler.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him, but the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain with them always.
