Obituary

Laura Stevenson Baer

Born January 23, 1968, Laura Stevenson Baer passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 57. She was the beloved daughter of Gerald Lee Stevenson and Eugenia ("Jeannie") Adele Stevenson.

Laura grew up in Lakeland, Florida, and graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School in 1986. Following in her mother's footsteps, she attended the University of Missouri, where she earned a degree in Education and met the love of her life, Adam Henry Baer Sr. Laura and Adam shared 32 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Her greatest joy was her children: Caroline Lee Baer (Daniel Coonce), Adam Henry Baer Jr., and Holly Catherine Baer. Just weeks before her passing, Laura celebrated the birth of her first grandchild, August Baer Coonce, a blessing that brought her immense happiness. She is also survived by her devoted husband, Adam Sr.; her cherished mother and best friend, Eugenia; and her sister, Lynne Anne Davis.

Laura began her career in early childhood education but soon embraced her true calling as a full-time mother. She poured her heart into her family and community-organizing Big Piney campouts, capturing life's beauty through photography, tending her gardens, and rescuing animals in need. From the streets of St. Louis to the hills of the Missouri Ozarks and even Paris, France, countless cats and dogs found safety and love because of Laura's tireless compassion.

Known for her boundless generosity and determination to make the impossible possible for others, Laura touched countless lives with her kindness and joy. She now rests peacefully with her Savior.
