Obituary

Laura Catherine Bedo, age 51, of Eureka, MO, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026.

Laura was the life of every party and was always willing to be a plus one to any adventure. She loved going with friends and family to events at Forest Park and the Botanical Gardens. She could also frequently be found in downtown St. Louis, whether that was at Cardinal's opening day ceremonies, St. Patrick's Day parades or Women's Marches. Laura also loved entertaining, especially if it involved getting to make a new recipe. Her vibrant personality made every room brighter.

She had great taste in music and enjoyed going to concerts. Her eye for fashion led to a full closet and an ever-growing collection of shoes and bags. She would also proudly brag about the deals she would get and would pass the information along so everybody could get in on it.

Laura had a great deal of compassion for others, to the point where she chose a career in special education. This also showed up in the way she would check in on friends and family to see how they were doing or to ask how a special occasion went. Friends knew she was a shoulder to cry on. She always knew how to pick out the perfect gift and did not wait for an occasion to give it to you.

She was hard working and persistent. When she got an idea in her head, she diligently made it happen, only asking for help if she needed. Co-workers knew they could count on Laura to get the job done. She had many promotions into leadership positions, which she would use to advocate for others.

She is survived by her parents, William & Gretchen (Sipes) Bedo, her sister Teresa (Bedo) Yakel, her brother-in-law Andrew, nieces Claire & Evelyn, and her spoiled dog, Bella.

Laura was preceded in death by her brother, Andy Bedo; grandparents, Jeann & Bill Bedo and Rolland & Cleo Sipes; and beloved dogs Utah, Pluto & Izzi.
