Lawrence M. "Larry" Ortbals passed to his eternal reward on April 6.  He was preceded by his wife, Diana Meyer, and is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lewis (Josh) and grandson, Robert.

Larry had five siblings:  Gerry (Mary dec'd), Dave, dec'd (Jane); Nancy Simon (Tom); Jim (Eileen); and Marilyn Matthews.

Larry was a proud graduate of UMSL.  For three decades, he provided care and comfort to the elderly as an employee of Catholic Charities.  His cheerful disposition and genuine concern never failed to brighten the lives of those he served.

Music was Larry's passion and his listeners' delight.  At family gatherings and elsewhere, he could be heard strumming his guitar and singing a host of classic and standard tunes.

The family wishes to extend their profound gratitude to the staff of Mason Pointe and Richmond Terrace, and the Evertrue hospice team for making Larry's last years among his best.

A private service will be held.  Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
