Larry was the beloved son of Harold and Elinor Thayer. Born in Ferguson, Missouri, on November 1, 1944, and raised in Webster Groves, his early years fostered a lifelong passion for golf and shaped the remarkable character that endeared him to so many. At the age of 17, Larry enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam before attending Washington University, where he earned his MBA.

Known for his vibrant personality and boundless enthusiasm, Larry had an unmatched zest for life. He was always the heart of every gathering, captivating those around him with his trademark stories and infectious smile. Larry's unwavering integrity, instilled by his father, and his remarkable work ethic became the hallmarks of his life, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Larry began his professional journey as a CPA, later dedicating the majority of his career to building PortaFab Corporation, where he served as CFO. Away from work, he delighted in countless rounds of golf, expanding his impressive LEGO collection, traveling to see kids and grandkids or the occasional golf trip, and enjoying the company of multiple friends.

Above all, Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured time with his loved ones.
