Linda Diane
Kurtz
Mar 26, 1958 — May 18, 2026
Chesterfield
Kurtz, Linda Diane, on Monday, May 18th, Linda passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Loving wife of the late Harold J. Kuntz. Dear mother of Kevin (Lauren) Kastner of St. Louis, MO, Rebecca (Craig) Brown of Wright City, MO and Kelley Kastner of Port St. Lucie, FL. Loving grandmother of James Bruce, II, Joseph Bruce, Oliver Brown, Kolton Kastner, Jackson Kastner, Maverick Kastner and the late Alyssa Rose Yount. Beloved daughter of Patricia (Fortune) and the late Joseph Kurtz. Sister of Ken (Debbie) Kurtz, Cindy Kurtz, Dana Kurtz and Becky (Chris) Kroeger. Granddaughter of the late Jacob and Anna (nee Nolan) Kurtz and Martin and Hazel (nee Hennisey) Fortune.
A woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and remarkable resilience, she devoted her life to the people and passions she loved most. Her kindness, intelligence, and gentle humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A lifelong St. Louis resident, Linda attended St. Michael the Archangel School and was a proud member of the Rosati-Kain High School Class of 1976. She later pursued her passion for history through coursework at University of Missouri-St. Louis. Throughout her career, she worked as an antique preservationist for several historic collections across the St. Louis area, spending much of her time at the Eugene Field House & St. Louis Toy Museum.
Linda was caring and polite, with a gentle spirit that naturally drew people toward her. She loved history, wandering through old cemeteries, and could lose herself in a book for hours. Her family will always smile remembering her talent for giving everything the perfect name and her habit of always running a little late.
Though soft-spoken and warmhearted, Linda was incredibly strong. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at a very young age, she spent her life courageously fighting the disease with resilience and determination. She participated in several studies aimed at advancing research and bringing hope toward finding a cure, never losing her strength or spirit throughout her long fight.
Though Linda will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the countless memories, stories, and love she leaves behind. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
