Linda "Carol"
Moore (Nee Burtin)
Feb 9, 1948 — Apr 22, 2026
Wildwood
Linda "Carol" Moore (nee Burtin) ( February 9, 1948 - April 22, 2026) was born in Eureka Kansas to parents Nadine and Eugene Burtin. She was the oldest of 3 and full of spunk. Following high school, she attended Emporia State Teachers College for 2 years. After her sophomore year she worked for her uncle at his store in Lake of the Ozarks. It was during this summer that she met her future husband, James "Jim" Moore. They married on May 4th, 1968 and spend their first year married in Wichita Kansas before Jim got transferred to Kansas City where they spent their lives together living in Roeland Park until Jim passed in 2003. Together they raised their daughters, Jennifer and Carrie, but spent many long weekends and vacations at the Lake of the Ozarks where Jim was raised. Music was a huge part of their life together and they were both involved with the Super Session band, which performed every summer at Lake of the Ozarks to raise money for charities.
After Jim passed, she found companionship and lived with her friend, Bill Kelly, splitting time in Kansas City and Lake of the Ozark until Bill passed in 2020. When Bill passed, she moved to Lake Ozark permanently to be near friends and family. In recent years, she moved to Ellisville, MO to be near her daughter, Jennifer due to declining health. Carol loved spending time with her family and especially her dogs, grandchildren and grandpuppies. She'd often visited her daughter in Colorado and would beg to go see the wildlife and mountains in Estes Park. She'd say, it doesn't feel like a trip to the mountains if we didn't see the Elk! Even after she moved to St Louis, she would often ask her daughters to take her to Lone Elk Park for a drive to see all the animals!
Carol was a realtor for many years in the Kansas City area before she retired and worked part time for JoAnn Fabrics. She was an amazing seamstress, loved to sew and help others with their crafting projects. She would often create various projects for her friends and family, making pillows, curtains, clothes and of course bandanas for her dogs, Jack and Riley.
She leaves behind her daughters Jennifer (Bill) Wood, Carrie (Josh) Cox, grandchildren Abriana (Paul) Laurenzo, Andrew Wood, Tyler Cox, Tristan Cox and Tiernan Cox, brothers Greg (Irene) Burtin, and Brian (Susan) Burtin.
