Obituary

Lisa Kay Adams (née Christoff), 51, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 8, after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.  In her final days, Lisa was surrounded with love from her family and best friends.

Those that will miss her most include the love of her life, Elliot, her husband of nearly 30 years.  Lisa and Elliot shared a true love, evident and treasured by all that knew them.  Lisa also leaves behind her cherished children, Ryan Nicole (Koby) Hilderbrand and Cody Allen Adams, and granddaughter, Iris Lou Adams.  Lisa's love for her kids and granddaughter knew no bounds and the pride that she felt for all of them was unquestionable.

Lisa is also survived by her loving parents, David and Judy Christoff; sister, Amy Christoff Breuer; brothers, Aaron (Susan) Christoff and Andrew (Melanie) Christoff; nieces and nephews, Ben and Claudia Breuer, Henry and Brooks Christoff, and Daphne and Sawyer Christoff; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that have become family.

Lisa was born on January 13, 1975 in Terre Haute, Indiana.  A graduate of University of Missouri-St. Louis, Lisa was a Probation and Parole Officer with the State of Missouri for 25 years.

More recently, Lisa cherished her role as "Mimi" to her smart, energetic granddaughter, Iris.  The two loved spending time together playing games, reading, and painting nails.  Lisa was very much looking forward to becoming a grandmother twice over in July when a baby boy is expected to join the family.

Lisa loved playing cards, often volunteering to be scorekeeper, which may (according to her family) account for her dominance in the games.  She also looked forward to her family's camping trips, including the annual Haas family reunion at Sam A. Baker State Park.  Despite the fact that the family gathering grew each year and always had newcomers, Lisa knew everyone's name on day one.  She was typically one of the last to leave the campfire at night, staying up late laughing, telling stories, and enjoying the time with her family.  Lisa loved vacationing in the Caribbean and was able to spend time in one of her favorite places, St. Croix, last December.  Lisa also loved hosting Sunday dinners at the home she shared with Elliot.  Lisa lived and loved with a fierce spirit - the same spirit she consistently displayed in her fight against cancer.

The Adams and Christoff families would like to sincerely thank the compassionate and wonderful doctors, nurses, and other caregivers that took such great care of Lisa at Siteman Cancer Center, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and Evelyn's House.  Your care and kindness for Lisa and our family was extraordinary and very much appreciated.
