Lloyd Dwayne
Armfield
May 5, 1931 — Dec 31, 2025
Labelle
Armfield, Lloyd Dwayne, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 94.
Beloved husband for 66 years of the late Donna L. Armfield (nee Holder); loving father of Michael D. (Judy) Armfield of Fort Denaud, FL, Barry (Jenny) Armfield of Manchester, MO, Alan C. Armfield of Ballwin, MO, and Kevin (Patty) Armfield of Eureka, MO; cherished grandfather of Brad (late), Travis, Melissa (John), Jon (Laura), Matt (Katlyn), Dani, Shannon (Mike), Amanda, and Justin (Katie); proud great-grandfather of Orrin, Michael, Jacob (Kylie), Allison, Avery, Jack, Shelby, Chloe, Kai and Emma; and great-great-grandfather of Parker. Our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Lloyd proudly served the community for 36 years with the St. Louis County Police Department. He was among the department's earliest hires, served as a Captain for 20 years, participated in the Major Case Squad, and retired with distinction as a Captain. His dedication, leadership, and integrity left a lasting impact on the department and those he served.
Even more than his devotion to his career, Lloyd devoted his life to his wife and family. He and Donna spent 34 happy years wintering in Florida and summering in Missouri at the family farm. In Florida, Lloyd loved fishing, visiting with friends at the park, and welcoming family visits. In Missouri, he found joy in time spent at the farm - tending a large garden, harvesting and sharing its bounty, and most especially cutting grass on his tractor. He loved it so much that even at 94 years old, Lloyd was still mowing. As the family likes to say, he's taking the slow route to heaven - driving his tractor.
