Obituary

Margaret Michela "Peggy" Schibig (nee Harkins) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children, on Monday, October 20, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Schibig. Cherished mother of Margie Miller (Bruce), Linda Shull (Dave), Dan Schibig (Jean), and Diane Lenahan (late Barry). Devoted daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Harkins. Dear sister of the late Patricia Weber, Gerri Bergman (Paul) and brother Don.  Adored grandmother of Steven Miller (Audrey), Joe Shull (Stephanie), Jeff Shull (Enaam), Kristi Hogland (Ryan), Jonathan Shull, Brendan Miller, Haley Miller, Rosie Schibig, Marty Lenahan, Kevin Lenahan, Caroline Schibig, and Joe Schibig. Treasured great-grandmother of Ezzy, Benny, Sami, Elouise, Mickey, Gordie, Edgar and Frankie. She was a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Peggy was born and raised in St. Louis, where she formed lifelong friendships and attended St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church "The Rock" High School. A spirited athlete, she played volleyball and later became an avid tennis player. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe, and together they built a beautiful life and family.

While raising her children, Peggy served as a Girl Scout leader and preschool teacher. She embraced creativity through sewing and art. Her true passion was connecting with people, she thrived in social settings and brought joy to every gathering, her home was always open to family, friends and neighbors.

Joe's career took the family from St. Louis to Kansas, then to Ohio and back to St. Louis. She loved traveling with family and vacationing with her cherished group of friends (The Crowd). As her children grew older, she began working at JCPenney, where her warmth and energy earned her the nickname "JC Peggy."

In retirement, Peggy remained active in her community. She volunteered at Holy Infant Parish, participated in the Seniors Group, helped with rummage sales, and served in Adoration. She was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke's Hospital, offering comfort and compassion to others.

Peggy's greatest joy was her family. She was a constant presence at games, tournaments, recitals, musicals, and plays - no distance was too far. Her infectious laugh and vibrant spirit earned her the affectionate nickname "Party Peggy." She brought light and laughter wherever she went and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
