Obituary

Secoy, Martha Naomi (nee Guthrie), peacefully entered into eternal rest, Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Beloved wife of Billy L. Secoy for 62 years; devoted mother of Alison (Alan) Weatherby and Benjamin (Michelle) Secoy; cherished grandmother of Adam Weatherby, Aaron Weatherby, Alec Weatherby, Lauren Secoy, and Bryce Secoy; dear sister of Maggie Selvidge and Marie (Jim Pielage) Guthrie; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Naomi was born in Albany, KY to the late T. Kendrick and Antha (nee Stockton) Guthrie. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Asberry and Thomas Guthrie.

Naomi graduated from Clinton County High School in 1960 at the age of 16. She attended Spencerian Business College where she received her associate's degree in 1962. Naomi met the love of her life, Billy, on a blind date on April 5, 1963 and they were married the following year on January 18, 1964 in Livingston, TN. She was employed as a secretary in many places for 22 years and then joined the Lindbergh School District in 1984 where she worked for 30 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Naomi was beloved by many in the Lindbergh community. She retired in 2014 and enjoyed her continued involvement in MAEOP and SLCAEOP serving in a variety of leadership positions. Naomi also enjoyed her involvement with the Lindbergh Retired Educators Group.

As a minister's wife, she was always actively involved in the churches Billy pastored and quietly served alongside him for many years, acting as his personal secretary and advisor. Naomi and Billy loved to travel; with their last big trip being an Amtrak vacation to the Grand Canyon. Naomi was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and a Muny season ticket holder for 30 plus years. She was also an excellent cook and seamstress.

Naomi fiercely loved her immediate and extended family and cherished attending her family reunions. She was affectionately known as "Granny Claus" by her grandchildren due to her generous nature of continuously bestowing gifts and food to them. She never missed attending their many concerts, recitals, and sporting events.
