Martin "Mart"
Ryan
May 17, 1936 — Mar 27, 2026
Ballwin
Ryan, Martin "Mart", baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born in St. Louis, a son of Edward and Catherine (nee Perotti) Ryan. Martin retired as owner of Cord Moving Company, was a member of St. Alban Roe Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
He was the beloved husband of 68 years to JoAnn Ryan (nee Schroer); dear father of Kit (Michael) McGrath, Karen (Brad) Faerber, and Stephen (Tracey) Ryan; loving grandfather of Brandon Faerber, Taylor (Samantha) Faeber, Ryan McGrath, Elle (Trey) Page, Gavin (Jordan) McGrath, Austin Faerber, Madeline Ryan, and proud great-grandfather of Jay Page; loving brother of Susan (late Tom) Lafata. Mart was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward (Shirley) Ryan, and an infant sister, Sissy.
Martin was the kind of man people looked up to, upstanding in every sense, with a quiet strength and a deep sense of responsibility. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always willing to lend a hand, offer support, or simply be there when someone needed him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather whose presence brought strength, comfort, and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
