Mary Frances
Walls (Née Schmiderer)
Oct 24, 1947 — Aug 26, 2026
Manchester
Mary Frances Walls, (née Schmiderer), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on October 24, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, to Vernon and Amy Schmiderer.
Mary was a loving partner, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend to many. She shared 18 wonderful years with her partner, James Rosenkoetter, who was by her side throughout their life together.
Mary was a proud mother to her only son, Scott (Shannon) Walls. Following the passing of her late husband, David Walls, Mary devoted herself to raising Scott and took great pride in the man he became. She was a loving grandmother to Addyson Gallup, Owen Gallup, Harper Walls, Callen Walls, Abigail Burlison, and Daniel Burlison. She treasured every moment spent playing with and making memories with them.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Amy Schmiderer, and her late husband, David Walls.
She earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Washington University and went on to build a successful career at Webster University, where she worked as a computer programmer for more than 25 years before retiring.
Mary lived life with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of adventure. She enjoyed bicycling, traveling, playing cards, golfing, pets, and bowling. She appreciated a good glass of wine and, above all, loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Those who knew Mary will remember her for her big smile, unique sense of fashion, her warm and welcoming personality, and the way she seemed to be everybody's friend. She had a gift for making people feel comfortable and cared for, and she brought joy and laughter wherever she went.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, family, and countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by James, Scott and Shannon, her grandchildren, her brothers David (Denise Beck) Schmiderer and Bruce (Dianna) Schmiderer, and her extended family and many friends.
Mary's smile, generous spirit, love of family, and zest for life will remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
