Obituary

Master Sergeant Jesse R. Todd, USMC (Ret.), passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

A proud and distinguished veteran, MSgt Todd served his country with honor and dedication in the United States Marine Corps, completing multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Following his military retirement, Jesse remained active working in security and 15 years at Sam's Club-a place that held special significance, as it was where he met the love of his life, Jacqueline. The two were united in marriage in 2006, sharing twenty years of partnership, laughter, and cherished memories.

Jesse lived life with a spirit of freedom and simple pleasures. He loved spending winters snow birding in Texas to catch the warm sun, and few things brought him more joy than taking to the open road on his beloved Harley. Above all, he cherished his family and the legacy he built through generations.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. and Dolores I. Todd; his brothers, Keith Todd and Mark Todd; and his brother-in-law, Joe Moore.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Todd of 20 years; his children, Tony (Valerie) Todd of St. Louis, Paul (Anna) Todd of Sikeston, Catinna Fitchpatrick of Vanduser, and Chrystal (David) Carrera of Mascoutah, IL; seven grandchildren, Max (Riley) Todd, Sam Todd, Bryan (Tuesday) Todd, Tyler (Jackie) Fitchpatrick, Maddie (Cody) Faucett, Josh Carrera, and Zerika Carrera; and two great-grandchildren, Amethyst Todd and Draven Todd; his brother, Charles (Nancy) Todd of Jackson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
