Melba "Jane" Overmann (née Wedde) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Jane was the beloved mother of Kathy Geiler, Mari Besancenez, and Diane (Tim) Winters. Loving grandmother of Nicholas, Christopher, Damian, Steven, Katherine, Patrick, Virginia (Seth), Lane, and Vivian, and cherished great-grandmother of Amelia. Dear sister of Thelma (Homer) Isreal. She was also a treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Raymond Wedde; and her siblings, Sharon (Don) Mitchell and Fran Wedde.

Jane will be remembered for her kind, empathetic, and loving heart, along with her wonderful sense of humor that could brighten even the most difficult moments. Family and friends will forever miss hearing her familiar greeting on the phone: "Hi, it's me," as well as her loving reminder whenever anyone was leaving: "Be careful."

She found joy in life's simple pleasures - camping trips, overnight visits with her grandchildren, and baking treats together in the kitchen. Holidays were made special by the cakes and sweets she lovingly prepared for family gatherings. Jane also had a deep love for dogs and opened her heart and home to many stray animals over the years.

She enjoyed classic westerns, especially "Gunsmoke", "High Noon", and movies starring "The Duke," John Wayne. Above all, Jane treasured time spent with her family, who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

Services:  The family will receive friends for a visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home - Eureka, 108 N. Central Avenue, Eureka, MO 63025. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The interment will follow in Burgess Cemetery, 6612 St. Luke's Church Road, Imperial, MO 63052.
